looks great! I love the stain with the natural finish.

Makes me wish i would have kept mine :redface:
 
wraped the parts in viniger soaked wrags and left in the sun. every couple of hours i would turn them over and make sure they were still damp. i left mine out for 2 days. then i used wd-40 and 0000 steel wool to buff out the parts.
 
Very nice job! Is there any pattern on the metal from the vinegar? Or just a solid grey?

The contrast is awesome. What stain did you use? Did you remove the blueing first or just wrap all of the metal with the vinegar rags as it came?
 
That came out great! The wood stain really works nice against the grey metal. Good job! :thumbsup:
 
i am going to try that stain. I just bought a cva mountain rifle with curley maple stock. should bring out the curl very nicely.
