YES!!!

I traded you in an Idaho parking lot for I think it was 3 rifles for some of my silver eagles. That worked out real well for me. I kept the CVA Mountain Stalker, and sold off the other two at a profit. Then I got a used wood Pioneer rifle stock to replace the composite stock. (Which I had painted Barbie pink and carried like that for about 3 years as a hunting rifle.) I still have the pink stock set back if I ever go shooting in public lands. I like to stand out like a sore thumb when others are shooting. A Barbie Pink rifle helps in that department in spades. :)
You sound like a heck of a good person, and I am glad to know you, even just through this forum. I'm in Ohio, long ways from WA, but have a very good friend in Olympia that I HAVE to meet in person one day.

So it is mailed off back to Midway.

Here is hoping the replacement they send is in better shape.
Now if it had just been an issue of cosmetic trouble I wouldn't have mentioned it. I bought a new in box Pietta .44 1851 a number of years back, out of the box a ding on the grip and a scuff in the blue. Gun was sound so I didn't bring it up and still have it to this day. Good shooter. Blue is repaired and the ding on the grip doesn't seem to impact my shot. :)
But when it is a safety issue? Nope. Not doing it.

Won't do business with Midway. They won't ship many items to NYS even though they are legal. Screw you Larry, everyone should make a buck at their work, he's a money grubber.

You are correct the 1858 I recently purchased I tried to buy from Midway and they said no! They just don’t want the hassle and I get that. I called after the denial and explained it’s the 5 boroughs or just NYC. They made the decision to just exempt the entire state. So I went to the distributor and had it in two days. SGAMMO is the same way something changed and he will no longer ship ammo to NY. He had good prices and occasionally had 45LC for Cowboy Action. I get 4 or 5 reloads out of that brass; then throw it away and order some more. Now I’m on waiting lists at Midway they have come through with brass and primers just have to be patient and watch your email because every thing goes

Well well well.....
Turns out Midway will take it back.
They sent me some legalese to attempt to cork me off. I responded that legalese on a web site is scant protection from a law suit over selling an unsafe firearm.

They called me in 15 minutes of sending that email with detailed instructions of how they wanted it sent back to them.
I even am giving them a chance to send a different pistol. I don't want my money, or a sorry, I want a functional pistol.

I didn't want to go to gripe mode, but that is what it is there for.

My wife uses the "squeaky wheel" method of dealing with manufacturers and/or dealers. It works virtually every time. The truth of the matter is that manufacturers and/or dealers should pay attention when their customers have a legitimate complaint and make every attempt to "make it right." Props to my wife and to you. :thumb:

Yeah I have started the hate mail chain with Midway and Uberti already.

I been wanting a Remington .31 pocket model, because I love that trigger sans guard it has, but I couldn't find one so I figured the Uberti colt clone would be a nice second option.
Isn't that the little pistol Clint Eastwood uses in High Plains Drifter to deliver the coup-de-grace to the "Marshall" baddie? You see him cleaning and fiddling with it earlier in the movie.

I can understand it being aggravating and disappointing but I see no cause to poo poo on Midway, on the very page to purchase to pistol it states in two different places they will not accept returns, after your purchase and you receive your pistol Uberti is responsible for any warranty issues, I’d be contacting Uberti customer service asap if I had issues with a new gun.

Well, you can't go wrong having one of the "tuners" work on it, maybe it will be smoother and better all round, even if you have to spend a bit more. No one ever claimed BP shooting wasn't costly! That's the price of real fun! good luck.

Wow! OK, guys! :)

We are losing the fight to maintain our God given rights while the business's like midway make millions and do nothing but throw crumbs to a couple organizations that do little in that fight. So no, I don't get that.

yep

Squeaky wheel get the grease as my Pa would always say.
I don't like playing the card, but I will.

I get they don't want to deal with the headache of returns, but this was a serious issue. I could fit a piece of paper folded twice between the chamber and barrel on the left side and the barrel is as a result kilter off to the right by a degree or two. I guess you could shoot the target next to the one you was aiming with such a piece. :p Then such a gap would outgas off to the side in a spectacular display and kill any velocity one could hope to attain. It shouldn't have gotten out of the factory.

I'm glad it worked out, hopefully you get a nice one.

FWIW I've had to send a few Ruger "unmentionable" revolvers back that I bought brand new, they were not 100% functional when I got them. So it seems using the customer as a final QC is normal.

Your correct I agree at first I was thinking they are probably afraid Lorretta James coming for them but if the law says it’s legal no harm no foul. They hardly have the best prices but seem to get inventory. They will sell a conversion cylinder but not the revolver. Strange. We need to call them and keep calling them. Though I recommend Taylors over all for BP Guns.

I am a little confused. I have received no messages. I think I am missing something here. But my brain is a little old and gets addled on days when my fibromyalgia has me in its grip.

Edit to amend: You are the gun smith! I checked my phone, I never use the thing.
If I get a second one that isn't up to snuff I will just have you work on it.

Send in to Mike at Goons for repair/tune-up. That is a good idea no matter
what. BP replicas are built and finished to a low price point. Spend some
and get a pro to go over it--that way you have something that you can use
and rely on. Remember it is a weapon --and it must work when called upon.

If I had to shoot someone/something I would for sure go with either the .44 1851, but most likely.... the suppository shotgun. Using a little pocket pistol is not wise when I have real man stopper options at hand.

I shoulda got the used one in a case from a member here, but my sweetie was all 'get a new one for that price, you don't know what that older pistol has been through'. And I listened. grrrrr......

Yep, shoulda - I trust the members here selling whatever, because whatever they're selling is exactly what you've seen & gotten. (and usually well worth the asking)
