Seriously, you think people are going to pay $155 for a kit when they can buy awesome completed bags for less than that. Blackposderbags.com has many options available and in my opinion they are way better than any kit could be.
I wouldn't pop poo on a members post. His business what he charges, you dont want one? Great. Poo Poo on another post makes few friends. Just saying

Not trying to undercut Mr. Kibler but do a search on Amazon for tooling leather and a stitching pony and you will see that there are way cheaper options. The only plus on the Kibler bag is that the leather is pre-cut to shape. But I have to give it to him for bringing it to fruition and hope he has success in this venture, and he will.
MUCH cheaper options for a flintlock rifle too. May I suggest you getcha a Traditions KY kit? Lol

Seriously? Have you assembled one of his rifle kits? In the right hands I’m betting there will be many jewels turned out. As far as the price I suspect like his rifle kits it is probably made from the best materials available and worth it to those in the know. I have several off the shelf and yeah they are okay but just that okay. I also paid more than $150 for them and I am not the only person who bought them. I’m be interested to see what the artisans on this forum do with them and sell them for.

I try to support any local business I can but if I can save money in this day and age I am going with the savings.
And thus the American small business man/woman is screwed.
I'm poor/broke, underemployed,,,,, I'd still rather spend a few extra bucks to support a small local business than give those dollars to Amazon or Walmart. If, I eat out,,,our,,,, it's almost never at a chain or franchise (as long as the customer service is good). If I can buy something locally and have to choose between a big box store and a small local business, the local business wins,,, even for a couple extra bucks (again, as long as the customer service is good).
If I can't get what I want locally and have to buy it online, small businesses are my 1st choice (Etsy can fall in here as it is often small businesses, like Corey Joe Stewart, selling through there).
We are the small business, small vendor's, only hope. It does matter where you put your dollars.

If it isn't worth a couple extra bucks to support small businesses to someone,,,, that someone has no business lamenting the demise of American businesses and manufacturer ingredients. Don't gripe when everything is imported from China and you are stuck dealing with the "pajama slipper" people at Walmart when you go shopping.

Lemme also say I wont be getting one. Don't want or need one Got nice handmade one for $25.00 from a member. All I ever need. If I needed/wanted one I would most surely look into the reputation of the seller and consider this kit. I would have a much better chance of not screwing it up that the rifle kits LOL.

Not bad mouthing it in anyway. Didn't suggest you buy one from me or go to Amazon. Really just posted to show I have no dog in the fight but hate to see guys poo poo on a post.

OK, I read the whole thread and I gotta say I am disgusted at the "comparisons", downgrading and stealing of the post. Grow TFU guys.... If you don't want or like it STFU. Wait till you post something for sale.

KARMA
That's right, if you have a different take on the subject, STFU! 😳 Azmntman, it's a public forum, people will post their opinions if you agree or not. Kiblers stuff always creates discussions, some like him, other don't. That's a good thing. It will drive some to his products, and it will spur others to learn on their own. Karmas got jack to do with it.

Yup, me neither,,, I already have plenty of leather (that I unfortunately haven't been using), a couple of good awls, a stitching clamp (I wish I bought it sooner), plenty of thread, and plenty of other stuff for these endeavors.
But, I wish something like this had been available when I 1st started. It takes some variables out of the equation that ultimately equals the final product. One can concentrate on learning to work with the awl and stitch properly without assembly doubts, pattern doubts, you know it all goes together,,,, the better you follow the directions, the more patient and deliberate one is in the process, the better the end result will be,,,, but regardless,,, it should work.

Do I need one? No.
But of someone approached me interested in getting started making bags and other leather gear this would be one of the 1st things I'd point them to,,,, along with some reading material.

I do leather work as a hobby…. For myself mostly. I will just say that kit may not be for everyone … but it is quality items. Quality leather is expensive. You can find cheap leather and tools on Amazon or eBay but it isn’t like that.
I think for someone that wants to try and make a quality bag and be proud of it you can’t go wrong with that kit.
that’s my .02 cents.
