This new offering increases the already severe pain I feel every time I see a Kibler....because I want one desperately but am chronically left handed.

Very nice, indeed.

I also shoot left-handed mainly flintlock but thinking really hard on one of these when available in percussion. will make my final decision when I get back from Wyoming hunt in Oct. Will watch this very close, never built a rifle or put a kit together, but from seeing and watching others and the videos here on the forum seems I could do this. I am a pretty crafty person making other needed tings pertaining to the hobby. Now curious as to the cals. offered. A .54 in a 36 in. barrel round bottomed rifling swamped 1 in 66 would be very nice. If this were to happen, I can see a C.V.A mountain rifle percussion tack driver going to the for-sale section. This rifle was bought for the same reasons mentioned and put a lot of deer in the freezer.

This is an amazing upgrade, and the stock in Kibler’s video provides a good sense of the potential of CNC carving on his future offerings. I’m looking forward to seeing one of these stocks fully finished.

Someone earlier in this thread mentioned the possibility of offering the carving in several different grades / levels, and I would second that suggestion. Jim’s current carved stock is amazing—don’t get me wrong—but it’s more ornate than I would prefer. But I would love to see a more subdued carving option, with some simple buttstock, cheek piece, and forestock moldings, perhaps some simple beaver tails at the wrist, etc.

Of course, this is just silly nit picking on the very first day Jim’s new carving option is announced. Opinions are like elbows; everyone’s got a couple. I continue to be impressed with Kibler’s designs and his work ethic, and this new carving option is just one more feature that puts him at the top of the heap.

Ok, here’s the new Kibler video.

Hi Jim, they look like some happy dogs. I just watched the video for the 1st time. I'm glad you mentioned a simpler version. I've always been a plain type of person and the rifle you present on the video is too busy for me. Perhaps you should look at a left-handed version instead of adding bling. I see multiple post asking when you will make a lefty. I know it's a big change having to retool to make a left lock, stock and all the left parts. Also, I'm sure you've looked at the cost vs the market. After all the rifles I've built, well over 200, I don't think I've built more than 5 lefties. I know, diarrhea of the keyboard this morning. I haven't had my coffee yet. Semper Fi.
