Last I heard he had a smoothbore/Fowler and a Woodsrunner next up.
The Woodsrunner was quicker to get to market so they released that first.
I’m assuming the smoothbore/Fowler will be next when interest in the 3 available kits wanes. All other builds are way down the road.
That’s my story until I hear different from Ohio.
However I love the speculation and I’m sure they use this forum as a sounding board-
I can predict that NW trade guns are hot now but their bubble won’t last. And Hawkens, they’re SO Yesteryear.
A pistol is a Great idea, and I’ll bet they’ve got a pile of firewood/seconds for stocks.
And a left- handed Anything would be Fantastic- I’m righty but I’d love a lefty rifle. I’ve no idea if they can recoup the cost of tooling up for that.
So if you people would please buy up everything Kiblers’ selling now the sooner I get my smoothbore.
Thank you ;-)
If leftys were a cost effective, profitable item they would not be so hard to find. Posted by a man blind in his right eye.

Until I read this I had no idea that the ML buying scene was as fickle as a Paris Fashion show.

A little bird told me he's going to do a Hudson Valley Fowler kit next. If my source is reliable Jim's already placed an order for another 5 axis CNC unit to do the long stocks and will be adding on to his building to accommodate it. Likewise, his barrel supplier is adding a new and larger CNC lathe and adding on to his shop for the long barrels also. And, as a sneak preview estimated cost of the kits will be 16K give or take. 'Not bad !

Are you aware that 16K means 16 thousand ?

The “yesteryear” got me chuckling. Like, we’re not trying to build 200 year old rifles already…
-Red, thought he understood what he was doing…

Anything left-handed, also as mentioned a pistol would be nice also.

We left handed folk are cursed you know, (the Highland Scots called it "Widdershins" as in counter clockwise or contrary), even the right minded women folk tend to shy away from us.

Thats why most of the Mountain Men happened to be Left Handed, they had little to no chance of a normal (whatever that is) life down in the flat lands with every day people; who routinely scanned for Left handed individuals to be driven out of the community.

And so it came to pass that over the years, even well regarded Muzzle Loader Firearms Craftsmen and manufacturers spurned Left Hand configurations and those of us who pleaded for the crumbs from their work benches; that being even just a reasonable facsimile of a pseudo copy of an acceptable left handed ML long arm firearm in either Flintlock or Percussion.

My grandmother would smack my hand if I picked anything up with my left hand. Drove her nuts that my father married a left handed woman.
Back in topic: I can’t imagine tooling up for lefty rifles would be cost effective. Even the big manufacturers don’t build many lefty’s.
-Red, flinches when he sees something picked up in a left hand.

Hey Red, how about when you pick up your guitar?:ghostly::cool: I grab my guitar by the neck with my left hand all the time.

I'm 77, and back when I was learning to read and write, aged four or so, nobody gave a hoot which hand I used. When I started school at age five and a month, I could already read and write like a twelve-year-old, thanks to my grandad, who had been a carpenter/joiner. And in three languages, as well as English. Sure, I had trouble with the pen nibs going the wrong way, but I compensated for that by writing like a rightie, but holding it in my left hand - I still do - no holding the pen downwards over the top like you often see some lefties writing, poor souls.

My dad encouraged me to use both hands equally, and I did, and do. It matters not a jot to me whether I have to shoot left or right, throw, paint, whatever. In fact, using two paintbrushes at the same time can be useful. Since 1979 we've had right and left hand drive cars, usually one of each, and it makes no never-mind to either of us. All this stuff about sinister/sinister and 'child of Satan' is utter garbage - think how many famous people in history were lefties - I'll let YOU look 'em up, but with Leonardo da Vinci heading up the long list of lefties, I'm in good company.

…obviously not from the flatwoods of North Florida.
I speak fluent “Cracker”, and can order another beer in Italian, thanks to a few years in the service. I’m trying to learn Spanish, but it’s like they’re speaking a whole ‘nother language or something.
-Red, Cracker born and bred…

From the sound of some of these comments it seems Kibler might be struggling as a business.
Uh, I doubt that. When your product is a status symbol, you’re not struggling. He just doesn’t have to stress out and expand crazily.

As was said before: trade guns are a fad — they were the Kia of their time. Harken rifles… neat, but doubtful.

I know. @James Kibler should build a Long Land Brown Bess. Then a Baker Rifle. 😜

How about not bugging the man?
