I got a Rice Shotgun barrel and some parts from Rod England. He said he has the same outside barrel configuration in a 45 caliper that would be interchangeable. I have a lot of wood to still remove, but its coming and I am going to shoot it in the raw, so it wouldn't be long now.

Here's a couple I built. The first is an Isaac Berlin I had in the gun judging at Kempton last week.
.62 cal Rice PA Fowler barrel, Kibler colonial lock. Don't know how it shoots "cause I didn't have a chance to get out with it yet.

I there an original scorce or gun that you based the moravian fowler off of

My Pedersoli 20ga/62 cal "fowler". 'Shoots a nasty load out to 35-40 yards. Thanks to Mike Beliveau for the great advice on working up a load.
What load do you use for ball if I may ask? I have the same gun and haven't settled on a load for it.

Hi Starnes, The Moravian Fowler was based on the piece found in Moravian Gunmaking 1, on Pg. 136-137, and in Grinslades Flintlock Fowlers, # KF7 on pg 206.

Actually I would be reluctant to post any pics from reference books due to copyright infringements. I can tell you though, the best and probably most inexpensive way to purchase them would be thru the KRA. This gun is on their Moravian Rifles #1 disc. Volume 1, Issue 2. They now offer these in USB as well. I bought one at Kempton last week on York rifles for $20. To me, they are the best resource as you can really zoom in and look at the details, resize components and print patterns, etc.
