I've been reading up on 1792 contract rifles and have been finding quite a bit of speculation (information) on the air gun brought on that expedition. I know it's not a flintlock (though it did have a flintlock hammer), my question is has anyone seen or thought of making a reproduction of this very interesting type of gun?
 
Yes. I can't recall where I saw it though. May have been the Beeman site.

There's an Asian company making a modern .45 cal air rifle that's getting 900 to 1,000 fps. That's pretty snotty for an air gun.

Here's a fellow who makes custom airguns and is polling for interest in producing such a reproduction:
