I don't have the grip I used to but I sure do not need any pry bar let alone a tire iron to release it.

It will sometimes pop on maximum loads and a Conical allows less powder so more likely with a ball at 1100-1300 fps.

You know, that same initial smack you don't want your Arbor loose for.

You build and try the lever latch as shown and you'll have a change of heart about the issue I predict !
I was exaggerating (tire iron) to make the point that the keep spring needs to be very stiff operationally to keep the lever up under recoil with full power conical loads and eventually won't even if it does pretty good when new.
