My new Tradition Deer Hunter .50 Cal.
So excited to try it. I need to more powder was to expensive this week to get two so I went with one pound of 3 f until I can get 2f and 4f. Hope it shoots straight!

Save some money and use 3f in the pan. I've used 2f in mine at times.

Yep, for the sake of simplicity, I use 3f in the pan and main charge. Quite a few people use 3f even in their .62 smoothbores!

That I like the Glass Filled Nylon stock that came on the OP's new rifle. The rifle the OP is tickled pink with. A solid knock around rifle.

i tend lately to use whatever is down the bore as my prime. less moving parts to confuse me!
with a brand new gun it is prudent though to have the different grades of powder to see what it likes best.
you have stepped through the looking glass into another world . enjoy.

I shot one of those one time when a friend brought it over, I wasn't expecting much but the lock sparked like crazy, the gun went off very fast and it surprisingly accurate.

In amongst the goodies, did you get a powder measure? If not, post back here and someone will help you find something you can safely use as an improvised measure--fired rifle cartridge, etc.

Building one now out of deer antler. Building a bag out of elk leather and a powder horn out of hickory!
