Well, decided to sell it. Has been sitting in a safe for about 45 years untouched. I was just a youngster when my father took me to shoot it. I know for a fact this rifle has about 40 balls run through it. 45 cal. Double trigger. 42 barrel. 13.5 set pull .14 fire pull. Do not know twist rate but I'm sure if you really need it I can work on figuring it out. Last auction sale I can find is 5400.00 with premiums and tax. One currently listed for 3950.00. I will never send this rifle to auction!! Someone who might love this rifle and be able to afford it might be pushed out of their spending limit after auction charges.

The perfection of the inlays -pierced inlays- is superb. Wonderful design and execution. This is collector quality, and easily worth the asking price. I struggle to inlay anything, much less pierced work- and i have Never seen pierced forend pin escutcheons! Shucks folks, I'm speechless!

In my mind it is tragic that this rifle has been locked away in a safe for as long as it has. My wish is that whoever buys it takes it out and lets their friends shoot it or takes it out in the woods and shoots something to eat. This piece needs to get out now .

Outstanding ! The wife and I are good friends of his daughter. We live in Limestone Tennessee. She still has a couple of his rifles. They never will be for sale. This is a killer deal in my opinion.
