Now, its not fancy, nor even old timey looking, but....

I took the long/hook side from a worn out small rachet strap, cut the hook off, and just tied it on where I wanted it.

Worked like a charm.

Doesn't work though if your concerned about how it looks.

My Pedersoli GPR is too heavy to take hunting without a sling. I got a nice one from Ox Yoke. It came with a video link to install it correctly. The front end goes over the barrel but does not interfere with sighting. The rifle has a deep crescent butt and the leather on that end sort of fills it in.

I have a good quality lace-up sling, but haven't used it on my Great Plains. Here's a pic of a trial fit on the crescent butt. It sure looks like it should work out okay.

One thing I didn't think of is how the strap could interfere with the ramrod. There's ways to make this work I'm sure - maybe just have it further to the rear. On my rifle the strap shouldn't interfere with the sights.

My two Great Plains Rifles and my Great Plains Hunter are set up like this. Pretty sure these detachables are from Uncle Mike's.

That attachment to the pipe is interesting. I have been searching and searching the net for one that will fit, but not one is listed to do so. They are either too big or too small.

The pipe measures .550.

The only ones I have found are listed to fit:

.420- .470

.630-.675

.645-.660

Do you happen to know what brand that one is on your GPR in the pic?

I have 2 GPRs and I have the Uncle Mikes tube swivels for the Marlin .357 1994c. Just double check now and then that they are still tightly clamped around the tube. I removed one of the screws from the toeplate to mount the aft stud so that it could be removed if needed. I can now use any style slin I want. Don't have the guns with me now so I cant take pic, but the mounts are like the ones previously posted.

Thank you.

Guess I need to try to find a forward clamp/mount for a .357 1994c.

I googled Uncle Mikes site, but I'm not on my computer and dont know how to post link to part no. on my tablet. I'm pretty sure I got them from MidSouth or Midway or Natchez when ordering other stuff for my unmentioables.
