Frenchman said::surrender: I have used on from Harbor Freight wit no problems and cost is low :hatsoff:
This is just my personal take on Harbor Freight. I have bought a lot of stuff from Harbor Freight and, in most, if not all, cases Harbor Freight stuff is imported from places such as China, India, etc. and for the most part is pretty cheaply made of poor quality materials. Having said that, however, if you are using it only occasionally and you have one of their 20% coupons, it is often cheaper to buy their stuff and just toss it and replace it with the same junk when it fails or falls apart than it is to buy the good stuff. I have gone through about 3 of their small vises. When you tighten down on the screw that holds the vise from turning on the base, it doesn't take much to strip the threads. No telling how many ratchet wrenches and sockets I have broken due to poor materials of construction. I finally reached the point of diminishing returns and have now bought good sockets and ratchet wrenches. My next small vise will cost a bit more and come from someplace other than Harbor Freight. Oh, I'll still buy a few things from them. Harbor Freight is okay for some things but if you are using a thing regularly or using it in your work, then you need to pass up Harbor Freight with its cheap prices and break out that stash of money with all of the dust and cob webs on it and buy the good stuff.
