My first thought was how good it would be for carving work, not necessarily heavy shaping. If you have the space for a dedicated carving vise, that is.
 
You call that a workshop????? :confused: Where's all the junk??? That is just too neat to be a real workshop, it looks more like an operating room. You need some wood shavings all over the bench and tools laying everywhere. Fill those shelves with assorted junk. Ooooh, a pristine workbench like that just gives me the willies. :haha: :haha:

I like what you have done to the vise. You have improved a useful tool and that has added versatility. I can go through my tool box and see many tools modified for specific purposes. Heck, there are a few tools in there I can't remember what I made them for. The vise on my bench is a multi-task tool used for more than holding gun parts.
