Matchlock Rifles

So I currently have a Pedersoli Pennsylvanian Rifle that due to some issue I currently Cannot use; I am thinking of using some parts from the rifle to build a matchlock rifle (Barrel, ramrod and thimbles ect.) does anyone know any good matchlock designs that were historical or were they near identical to the smoothbores of the time (the fishtail matchlock specifically)?

Many of the match lock rifles wer set on a colts foot stock like early wheel locks. Some of the barrels were 5 sided. Most were short in 20 to 24 inchs. They were often fitted with peep sights. Some were set on large bulky Spanish style stocks with a built in foot to set on a bench

Hi, I have scratch built two matchlock rifles to date. They are reliable but not for the feint of heart if they miss fire...
Never re prime a matchlock from anything but a small measure. This is vitally important for you and all others around you. Very different to flint in this respect.
Check out Bolk Antiques on the net. They have a lot of very unusual European firearms for sale. I have copied two of them being Dutch Matchlock 'rifles'
