We held our 3rd annual shooting match yesterday in central wisconsin. weather was perfect, shooting was grand, $700 worth of prizes including a arquebus and hand gonne, the only bummer was 6 shooters 4 of them club members. 5 prizes to each man. so we all had a great time. especially shooting the hand gonnes at a charging elephant out of the bush. we won't be holding this event again as a big prize event only a blanket match. Sam broke 3 for 3 clay birds, awesome. great time with good friends , special thanks to Kyle and Jim who made the trip to come play. You all missed a great time ... regards...Chuck Thom

Believe me when I say that I wish I could have been there! :( Damn, it sounded like it was fun. Did you take any pictures?

I'm planning to resurrect Chuck's Matchlock Only Shoot at my place next year. Sticking to the same weekend. My place is Oneida [Hobart, actually] but for all intents and purposes Green Bay.

Got six acres, some of it woodsy, some brushy, and sometimes damp depending on how the wind blows. Plenty of space for tents and such.

Details to follow from time to time.

Excellant news! I attended the first match that Chuck held and it was a great time. Unfortunatley I was unable to attend subsequent matches due to other comitments. Let me know when it will be as I will definatly try to get across the lake to it.

Thanks Gordon, I followed one of your links!

This sounds like an absolute great time, and in my neck of the woods. We've got several of John Buck's pieces, and a couple of artillery pieces we're itching to get some good use out of.
