I my case I started this in thread to find a remedy for a lock sent for repair to MVTC in October 2018
he refused any communications with me after November of 2018 saying then it was half done.
I had local authorities contact him in April 2019 to no avail. I have asked to throw it in a box and return it to end this saga repaired or unrepaired.

He has not as of a month ago and basically I have to wait on his list for when he ready to return it who knows when???

I live 3 hours way and considering going to pick it up
but do not not want a confrontation.

He is unreasonable perhaps exposing his behavior may have some effect.
I am not the only one with a gripe he has a C- with the BBB.

Just want the lock back.
At this point I don't think it confrontational to show up and ask to have your property returned to you.
If HE decides to be confrontational I would make that call on the authorities then and there.
BTW, not the local police but the sheriff's department.
As was with my case, communication is key in a relationship between consumer and purveyor when money changed hands.
Notice how quick a response I got here on a forum even though direct phone calls and emails went without response for long periods of time...
Wait for it....LOL!!!
 
Well to all my fellow shooters and collectors and reenactors I have heard both positive and negative I know finding someone who's is dedicated to this is tough I know as merchants they can not invest massive amounts of money and let it set and having some one qualified to do repairs is also costly. So I belive as a community we all need to rate dealers honestly give them a fair shake on how they do business. This way business owners are held accountable and as customers know what we are getting as the Latin word says caveat emptor. Buyer beware. I have owned multiple family businesses and my father and mother had a rule over the door. THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT. I know some will disagree with this but in the end a good rating system in place makes good for all involved. So I suggest all involved and have bought multiple weapons give the the dealer name and a star ⭐️ rating from1 being worst and 5 best than explain why. So I recommend MH good communication smooth transaction wait time for product about three weeks ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐️As I said only drawback no touch hole due to laws transporting into US. I will be purchasing from other dealers and rate. So sorry for such along post.
 
Thanks Sicilian Hunter I am open to all ideas from everyone. If this site could do a list of all dealersand rate them on any and everything they sell the more of us would know we're to go. So every one ideas? Fireman 1. Loyalist Arms I talked to them what did you purchase how was it?

I would say it all starts and ends with customer service ("communication is key in any relationship").
Following that it would be overall quality of the item, then its components and the details of the craftsmanship (if any).
Beyond that I would give it a value rating comparing cost (including shipping and wait time) to satisfaction ratio (did I or did I not, get my moneys' worth??)
Lastly, something to be considered especially in this community should be a DIY rating.
EXAMPLE: For the work it would have taken me to do myself was it worth the extra $100 I paid Company X ? (was that bird in the hand really worth 2 in the bush??)
Although this is different for everyone it may be of value to some (like myself who would rather spend under $100 on the materials for a hunting frock to make myself despite the frustration, than $250 on one made by someone else of a lesser material.) because there is more than just a savings in monetary means with a DIY project, there is a gain in knowledge and experience by making something yourself.

I've had a double bll.flint Shotgun, a double bll flint pistol, a 1600's Dog lock Pistol, a British Heavy Dragoon pistol, and a Paget Carbine which they ordered at my request and tested inhouse for a video. Accurate and reliable with sliding safety flint lock. I'm very satisfied and Will order from them again. They don't import from same mfgs. as Loyalist and Veterans. Guns are ordered in batchs of 25 or more at a go hence the waits. Some of their models are only available from MVT. He doesn't suffer fools with warranty and returns. Read the FAQs I you "BuBBa" with his his product why should he fix your fumbles. I traded a Baker parts set from MSVT to a noted Western builder/ gunsmith of impeccable repute who's builds regularly are consigned on Tof W for $2500 + He assembled as smooth bore and tuned the lock. Here's the result. A KS tom taken on the wing. Note screw in choke.

So the rule for most folks that I've spoken with is you buy MVTCo muskets when you can see it in person, and walk away with it. The guys that I've seen selling them go up in person and pick out the muskets and trade guns that they then take to events and resell. IF you need lock work you have it done on your own. IF you're going to mail order, then you buy Loyalist Arms, and you can contact them if you have any problems with the gun.

Well this was some years ago, but several MVTCo muskets at an event needed frizzen rehardening, and the angle of the flint jaws was too close to 90 degrees. I can't, however, tell you how old the muskets were when working on. They could've been anywhere from 1 to 5 years old, so there has been much time since then and I can't tell you if any of those problems were widespread, or for just that lot of muskets, or if those problems have been addressed.

Well yeah but Loyalist Arms also has a 4-6 week wait, or more if they're busy and shipping is $100.

They're asking their guy if they can make me a .65 3-Band Enfield (P59 clone) and they told me they'd have a yes or no answer in 2 1/2 weeks. If they say "no" then I'm not buying anything else from them.
 
Add me to the list of MVTC victims. I waited more than a year and a half before l finally had enough and cancelled my order. Now it's been three months and l still haven't received a refund either.

Wish l had done better research on MVTC beforehand.

Buying a Loyalist Arms Ranger musketoon instead, l hear they're much better people to work with.
 
I suppose that I am the most recent victim of Peter's shenanigans at MVTC. Last August (2020) I ordered some BP accessories and a musket. I waited until October to send an email for an update. He responded to look at his list. Did that. Waited until February with no movement or updates. Emailed again to politely request that the accessories be shipped because I would be needing them for a reenactment. He responded that he would "ship what was available." weeks later Still no movement. I didn't mind so much because I was unable to attend the event anyway. Waited until April and sent another email request to ship the accessories or I would have to cancel the accessories part of the order. Two weeks later (NINE MONTHS total) no response. I sent another email cancelling that part of the order for failure to fulfill as promised, and a suspense of one week to receive the refund or I would have to reluctantly cancel the entire order. I was willing to wait for the musket and told him such. Unfortunately, I had to send the ultimatum to make the refund or get the credit card company involved.

Well, that obviously caught Peter's attention and he promptly responded with all sorts of accusations and character attacks. He was playing the victim card, claiming that I was "ripping him off", and said that I was in breach of the contract and responsible for the absurd 20% cancellation fee. He then cancelled the entire order of his own volition. I looked at my credit card transactions and less than half was refunded. So I promptly called the credit card company and began the dispute.

I was nothing but courteous and respectful to the guy. I gave him way more than enough time to fulfill even the least part of the order. He failed to do such and attempts to gaslight and accused me of being a thief. All this is documented via email.

Peter P. is obviously an unstable person, and is less than ethical in his business practice.
