I own several percussion derringer one being the Pedersoli screw barrel pistol. I would be interested in seeing some performance data on that particular model. It shoots a .454 ball loaded on top of 10 grains of 3f powder. It can penetrate a 1 inch thick pine board consistantly.
:shocked2: 30gr of FFF. That's a wrist twister. I have one. I use 15gr FFF and still can't hit the side of a barn from inside it! :rotf: It's fun though! :blah:
Mec, did you get any readings on that pistol using the .454 ball? I prefer the larger ball with one more grain of powder. It gets through a full one inch of pine along with a layer of corrugated cardboard. Gotta get me a chrony cause I have several derringers that I'd like to test with various loadings. Don't know why it intrigues me just does.
shot some. didn't clock them (.454s) I wouldn'd doubt a bit more velocity. With the 454s, the barrel wrench was needed but not with the recommended 451s.

Thanks Don, Palmetto Arms is it. I found Palmetto's page and they say Dixie carries them but Dixies web site isn't showing them. Guess I'll have to call em.
