Wow! Have you ever tried a conical from your 45? How far would you shoot a deer with your 45? I just finished one and it shoots amazing. Thanks

I'm posting this as a long term self project of mine. There Is all too much in fighting about this and that with no proof of anything. I ask that anyone who is willing to participate hear me out. Every animal you take with a muzzleloader should be documented here. Caliber distance shot distance ran projectile amount of powder and gun. This way we can form a bit of evidence to backup claims and help some newbies out. Please feel free to describe performance but no gore for the sake of keeping muzzleloading in a good light.
Thank you! This is a much needed thread.

So do we just let pepole be uneducated. Shall we hunt deer with .32 prb because "way back when my paw paw took deer at 100 yards with his 32" I hate to say it there is a good bit of this out there I'm just trying to organize it into some valid research.
well said. Here in AZ you can hunt your bull elk with a .32 prb (or smaller). Thats the requirement. Single projectile single barrel loaded from the muzzle. Hit him in the heart you wont find him, he probably die. Lungs? Likely to heal? Bones? Bruise and limp a week or two? Bull elk be hard to kill.

Ignore the trolls cluttering up this thread. They complain about everything, rarely, if ever provide positive information and on top of it all, are usually full of crapolla when they do comment.

I bet he closes his eyes when he walks by the meat counter too.

This might even send him over the edge:

Give the man a break he has a valid point. I cringe when I post here sometimes. "They" are here ya know, one lives don the hill several miles + a hundred. StillI support the thread. Would add to it but all heresay, no back up photos. I will say PRB is as effective for me a a centerfire, have had game run further more often than with correct caliber PRB

I tried it just the other day and at 50 yards it shot well... I may trying on a upcoming hog hunt. as for distance, I've never really shot anything past 60 yards.
