I'm just a lurker here but this afternoon I saw a bit of a show on the Outdoor Channel that I thought might interest you all. On Fish and Wildlife Journal they had a show about muzzleloaders. It started out with modern stuff but the rest of the show had a good showing of traditional equipment. They even had a bunch of flintlocks on there. They blew up a gun with smokeless powder at the end to show what that can do.
I didn't get to see all of it yet but I see it is on again Saturday 7PM eastern time.

I hope they represented them in a positive light. It seems that whenever I see traditional guns shown along with inlines, it's always to show how much better the inlines are and how traditional shooters handicap themselves by using such obsolete hardware. Really steams me. :cursing:

I got a phone call during the show so I couldn't pay as close of attention as I wanted to but it seemed pretty positive to all forms of muzzleloading. It is a show sponsored by TC.
I hit the DVR record button but haven't had a chance to watch it again yet.
From what I could hear the flintlock guys they had on weren't going to be on a show putting down traditional equipment. :applause:

Sounds like it would have been enjoyable to watch - wish I were able to get the channel.
I've often wondered why they don't do more of this - you know, showing a hunter harvesting his game with trap, stickbow or flintlock.

I saw the show and it was very well done. They even mentioned Canter's Cave(30 min from my home) where the class was given for making your own rifle. Hershel House and his brother were the instructors. These fellas have put out some really nice firearms over the years. I will set the vcr for Sat at 7 pm to catch it again.

Tim,
Thanks for the heads up. Now that you are
done lurking introduce yourself at the
'Introducton Forum".
