Soooo a reenactor friend , who also hunts bear legally, gave me a bear fur he tanned, in trade that I make him a Bear Possibles Bag.
So, I am making three, because three done simultaneously takes as long as two done one at a time.

But alas, the bear fur was lookin so cool that I got all excited and pushed through one ahead of the others.
That last two should take around 13 more hours to finish.

He, of course, will get the pick of the litter... but I GET THE SECOND PICK... Heck YEAH!
Any how, here is where I am at, so far.

Nice work, but not for me - too many yahoos in the thick woods where I usually hunt to risk one of them taking a shot at it (they may not see the rest of me)

Nicely done, stitching is symmetrical, welting and accents look nice and even. It's easy to see you've put in a lot of work and you've got a decent hide to work with. That first photo is a prime cut!
Critique offered?
The fur of hide over the top flap hinge distracts from the over all,, where the fur rides proud as it rolls over the flap.(?)
If you can find a way to fit the hide at that point without the fur sticking up,, it would be a better presentation.
Perhaps a rolled edge like you use with your inner bag accents to help hide the cut?
just throwing out ideas,,

I greatly admire both the bags and your well-used work station. My wild guess is that this is not your first leatherworking rodeo! 😄
I wonder how durable the bear hide tanned hair-on is with frequent use afield in all sorts of weather.
