Had a few hiccups putting it together, split the ram rod and cut the barrel too much to hold the rear site (JB weld probably isn’t a traditional way to fix it, but it works…)

I absolutely love the way it turned out. Hoping Jim puts out updated SMR that is as easy to assemble.

Now, just got to wait for the Yuma weather to cool down so I can get out and shoot it.

What JB weld is not period, WOW learn something new every day. Never understood the addiction to that stuff when it comes to guns. Why not just buy another oversized sight and file the sight bast to fit. Other than that nice looking rifle.

I’d have a hard time waiting on the weather!!!! You could always send it to me I’d be glad to try it out :)

I saw the video where Kibbler files on the barrel dovetails to open them up and my first thought was why? Why not file the sight down to fit and leave the barrel alone? You can get a new rear sight for cheap in an envelope. Not so much a barrel…

You know I say that, but I always laugh when I go into my gunsmith and there’s a bunch of hammers on his bench. “What do you use those for? You’re not beating on my guns with those?” “Those are gun hammers.” “Oh.”
