i got the barrel just bout bottomed out in the channel so far....have to shape the tang and git that inletted and bent to follow the wrist so i can finish sanding the barrel channel to fit the barrel....and it only took 2 hours :shocking: to git this far....how many lugs fer pins should hold the barrel to the stock 2 or 3 on a 42"............bob
 
Three would be prefered, but watch how you locate them due to the "thin spot" on the swamped tube.

I have forgotten what weight barrel you were using. Just leave yourself enough meat in the bottome of the dovetail.

IMHO, Min. of 3 on any barrel, I usually use 4 on a 42" barrel. You have to get it laid out & insure the RR pipes & entrypipe & underlugs don't end up in the same places.

I would go with 4, one close to the muzz, one between the entry pipe and lock panel and the others layed out proportionately twixt the pipes, and first two.
