I just Picked Up My Newest Rifle from My old buddy Mike Davis.
I may be Not a good judge Since its Mine But I think It is Stunning to say the Least.
I had Mike Use a Rice 62 caliber Rifled Barrel and a P++++ Curly Maple stock.
He also Used a Jim Chambers Large Virgina Lock and Davis set triggers.
I was expecting it to have a lot more recoil but it really a joy to shoot and Handles really well. http://s1000.photobucket.com/user/ridgerunner1488/library/Virginia 62 caliber rifled?sort=3&page=1

That is a stunning rifle alright. Hope you get years of joy from it.

No, I think you are right - you can't really judge when it's your own rifle.

It's hideous. I have a dumpster filled with hideous rifles waiting to be destroyed.

You can send yours to me as well and I will ensure that it gets disposed of properly :rotf:

Just curious - what do you plan on shooting with a 62 cal? Targets or Elephants

Good Question I guess Anything I want LOL.
I had heard They were going to introduce Elephants to south Mississippi Just wanted to Be ready

The architecture is what makes a great looking rifle, the fact that your rifle has a stunning piece of curly maple just send it over the top...

Heck of a rifle, there were plenty built in that .60-.62 caliber before 1775...A larger caliber is great for putting more blood on the ground... :)

Enjoy!!

Very sharp  I like the dark stain and the curl is awesome in the wood. You will like the 62. Big hole means lots to follow IF you have to follow

Beautiful rifle! How long of a waiting list does Mike Davis usually have? I've saw other rifles he's built, and they have all been very nice.
