Broken-open shotguns shells would quickly add up to a pound. I keep an eye open at gun shops (and it would be worth asking the owner) for partial boxes or even pails of stray shells.

It would help if you post what size shot you're looking for.
As a rule, the "common" sizes used by folks who reload shotgun shells (i.e.: 71/2,8, 9) are only available in 25 # bags.
Larger buckshot can be found in 5# bags...but not commonly seen.

I have #6 magnum shot if your interested. I'm sure we can work something out, I love to barter. PM me if interested.

RJ,

Not one pound bags, but you can get Eagle Shot in 10-pound bags , and BPI sells 11 Pound bags. The only trick is finding the smaller bags in shot sizes that you want. You can usually find shot in #8 and smaller, but finding it "in stock" in #5, #4, and #2 are not so easy.

Maybe you can find somebody to split a bag with you.

anyone know of a source for 1 pound bags of shot.

Dunno anyone selling such small quantities. Best would be to check with neighbors who reload shotshells or the nearest trap club for a member similarly willing. A pound is a surprisingly small volume. I built a shot flask to hold a pound, and it's no bigger than a common lemon.

found what I need on ebay. they list 1 , 3, 5 lbs. of divers wait belts. they are filled with shot. waiting on what size it is . 1 lb. costs 5 bucks plus 5 for shipping.

its made the old way, like a shot tower. only smaller. molten lead dropped thru a sieve and into water. comes out teardrop shape.
