Thanks for bringing me into the group. I'm here looking for information on how to price my muzzleloaders. Where can I get a value so I can sell them. I used to hunt with my late husband and I don't want taken advantage of when I sell them.

Welcome and sorry for your loss

You will need to ask for value evaluation and post photographs, and post them in the areas where they apply. So a caplock rifle photo under Percussion rifles, flintlock rifle photos under Flintlocks, muskets or shotguns under Smoothbores, and etc. You should get a good value estimate from that.

To clarify, do not post photos of the rifles here under New Member Introductions
Post them under a new thread asking for a valuation, under Percussion Rifles. Thank you

Welcome and condolences on your loss. The Chisolm Trail Antique Gun Association (CTAGA) meets in Wichita and members could help you with antique and modern muzzle loading firearm values or be prospective buyers. A reputable professional appraiser would be used for expensive antiques or custom rifles. A former president of the club lives in Derby and might suggest some local experts. If your guns are not antiques but factory made modern muzzle loaders you might attend local gun shows to see what prices vendors are hoping to get. Or check on line for ball park figures on used muzzleloaders but you'll find a wide range and not be able to ascertain their condition, I would not trust an acquaintance to take them around to gun shows, club conventions (such as the Kansas State Muzzleloadingor rendezvous unless he or she is knowledgeable and reputable. And certainly not a stranger. The Overbrook club is in eastern Kansas. Good luck finding new homes for your collection and getting a fair price.
