Nipple bumpers ?

As near as I can make out no one sells a commercial product for dry firing cap and ball revolvers.
Those of you experienced in such, could these work as nipple bumpers ?

Zip lock bag clips work well for Colt revolvers types...Rem. 1858 .575 musket ball...Thick piece of old belt leather cut to fit work on any gun with a exposed hammer...c

Tried the tubing already. Hammer slams frame after a few shots...c

Cut a foam ear plug in half.
Cock hammer to full-cock.
Insert plug half in hammer slot in frame.
Aim, pull trigger. Hammer will not contact nipples.
Enjoy.

Get a Ruger Old Army - you can dry fire it until your thumb wears down the bone - it's designed that way.

I've a novel approach; when I clean the gun after a day at the range, I leave the nipples out until next time. You can dry fire the thing all day long. When I get ready to shoot it only takes a couple of minutes to put them back in.

That is the best there is , 1/4" is the correct size.
