The Walker nipple wrench is made to hold the hammer spring. I compress the hammer spring with a pair channel locks with plastic jaw covers they sell at Sears then hold the spring in place with the nipple wrench for assembly. I all so made a spring vice out of a small u bolt boths ways work well.
