I know that a lot of you have been watching the gun building videos that I have been posting on You Tube. A couple days ago I got a message from You Tube that they removed 10 of my videos because they are harmful to the community. Yes, that is what they said. I did the appeal thing that they have. Today they responded by denying the appeal and removing all the rest of the videos. I did the appeals thing on those also but am not expecting any positive result. My You Tube account is also suspended for a while. So it looks the You Tube that I did are gone and there will not be any more.

I like building guns and I like making the videos. I plan to keep on doing it. I just need to figure out a new place to post them. I am not much of a high tech guy. Do any of you know of any alternatives to You Tube that are a bit more gun friendly? I will put up all the videos in another place. I have backups of all the videos. It will take a while to get them all posted again. It takes a few hours to upload each one and there are over 200 of them so far. I will get started as soon as I find a new place to post them.

You might try full30.com. There are gun videos on there.

There, and gunstreamer.com. Both emerged a couple of years ago after YouTube started messing with firearm related content.

I have no affiliation or real insight with either platform other than watching a couple of videos, but the first thing you'll notice with a visit to either site is that the views are but a fraction of similar videos on YouTube.

It's sad, really as content on these sites is "preaching to the choir." One of the major advantages of being on a platform like YouTube is that it's easier to reach new audiences, something that is critical for the long term health of the sport.

Mike Bellivue is on Patreon.
From what I understand, Patreon has been known to screw with firearm related content as well.

I had a 30 second video of the lock mortis inlet on my fowler as well as an in-depth video about my bow tillering tool I call a tillering gizmo, youtube deleted my channel for inappropriate content.

I found that gun related videos with a million views or so don't get deleted. If you are making them money they leave you alone.

I agree about gunstreamer or full30. Youtube is really only useful nowadays for watching funny cat videos and old public domain B movies or for finding out how to beat that video game level you've been stuck on for weeks. Beyond that, the rules are seemingly so arbitrary and fleeting that you don't know what's okay from one minute to the next.

Just a thought, what about Creating your own website and putting them on there. This whole social media thing really sucks. So much for free speech.

My girlfriend watches lots of Christian stuff on You Tube. She says a lot of that is getting taken down also. The only reason that I make the videos is because I enjoy doing it. I am a really long way from getting rich off of it. Building flintlock rifles is about as obscure of a subject as you are going to find and is never going to have a large audience. So I will be posting the videos on Rumble. Think of it as You Tube without the censorship. It also does not have the audience. Videos on there only get a small fraction of what they do on You Tube. I don't really see that as a drawback. I am not looking to get famous and never cared much about how many people watched them. The people that are interested will still be able to find them. I suspect that a lot of the You Tube audience is people just killing time that have no real interest in building rifles.

I got a video uploading onto Rumble right now. It goes a lot slower than You Tube does. At this rate it looks like it will take about 12 to 14 hours to upload. It will take a long time to get all the videos on there. I am starting off with the 4 bore rifle build since that is the one that I currently have going and I know a lot of you are anxious to see how it turns out. Once that is finished I will start on the older ones. Eventually you will be able to watch all the videos again. Just have some patience.

The 4 bore rifle is finished. It turned out great and I have shot it a few times. So far the heaviest load is 400 grains of 2f powder. The recoil is enormous. That load will knock me back about 5 feet. Design of the rifle turned out great. Even though the recoil is huge, it is not at all painful. It does not leave a bruise on my shoulder.

User name on Rumble is BillRaby. No videos are on their yet. The first one is still uploading. Its going rather slow.

Hi,
I just found and viewed a whole bunch of muzzleloading gun making videos on You Tube, including Duelist54. Do you suppose Bill, that the fantasy scenes that you showed at the beginning of each video including a recent one showing someone about to be beheaded might be the key reason you were barred. Do you suppose that might be the things they objected to?

Hi Bill, this is just a thought, can you post videos on YouTube as a “gun repair” ? Or did YouTube ban you from all video production?

If you look up fantasy art on You Tube you will see a whole lot of stuff that goes far beyond anything I have done. You Tube was pretty clear that they took it all down because I was showing how to make guns.
