I do find it easier to fit the barrel then fit the plug/ tang.
I lake the TOW kit although I put mine on a plain maple and not the hc walnut. I did not invest in the stamps. The track can produce a very good copy.
 
TOTW will fit and install breech plugs for $25.00. They offer an number of services for a fair price for those who aren't set up or feel capable of some of the building processes.
 
TOW sends you good full sized plans with the kit. So the sizes of the stock is easy to take off. Laying out the pipes , lugs trigger placement is pretty easy, and you get it right. Not all butts were nailed some had two screws, some had five, and some were nailed.
The front lock bolt will transect the ramrod hole. Wood barrel was very thin.
 
Thanks for the info guys I appreciate it. Not to worried about the breach plug but the dovetails scare me a little.
 
Check out TOTW site under gun making. They have a number of gunsmithing options including many steps that may worry a new builder. Most are $25.00
