I have to post a few kudos and pictures of work done by Steve, aka “Jersey Flinter”. First off, besides being a great friend and shooter, he’s got some talent there that he’s willing to share. He has built a few rifles from kits ( see this post here: http://www.muzzleloadingforum.com/fusionbb/showtopic.php?tid/283385/ ) and I think the best accolades of his work there was when seasoned builders here opined that he was the ”˜real deal’ and ”˜ready to progress onto longrifles made from seasoned blanks’, not kits!

Well he just re-worked an old horn that I had lying around and I had to share! I had bought it due to the sweep of the neck which ”˜turned in’ ideally for a left-handed shooter like myself, where I’d wear it slung under my left shoulder. Steve took it and turned it from an ugly, albeit usable horn, into a work of art! I like the simplicity of the design, as I’m not into ornate horns. I think his main skill lies in his patient and thoughtful execution. Also attached are but a few examples of how he documents each and every build.

Don’t forget his name or MZL Forums moniker, as I sure think we’ll see it amongst the roles of the CLA artisans in the future. Just imagine what he could do if he gave up his day job! You guys can call him ”˜Steve’ or ”˜talented’ ”¦ but me? I’m just lucky enough to call him ”˜my friend’. I just wished we lived closer to each other ”¦

I saved the BEST part for last ... I just bought the stock (fancy grade 5/6 AAA+ tiger striped maple), barrel, and components for a JP Beck from Dave Keck and Steve has agreed to be the builder!
