I use about three chisels to build guns.
a 1" for heavy wood removal, a 3/16" for inleting and removing the carving back ground, and a couple small gouges. I use a parting tool to set my carving in.. I've been using a plane more and more lately for wood removal while shaping the stock.
You don't need alot of tools to build guns.

Mike I know that you don't need a lot of tools, the deal on this set is that for the price of the tools you suggested i can get this whole set for just about $30 dollars more. I'm building one now and all I have is one 1/4 inch chisels and a chepo set of gouges.

I have to agree with Mike, You really don't need a lot of tools to do carving. I feel you would be wasting your money on that kit unless you are going to do 3d carving of animals as well. For stocks I've found that the Bent Inletting tools from TOTW work great. Just exacto knife the design and inlett it to raise it.

I'm a fool for chisels and make them whenever I "need" a new one. But again like Mike, I always go back to 3-4 for 90% of the work. I even give those chisels names!

That set, as I understand it, would have you changing handles a lot. That might get on my nerves.

For the actual carving of the stock "Carving floral designs in wood" I use an X-acto Knife "the small one", and 2 chisels a 3mm and 2mm. I have a small dental file "called a bone file" a dentist gave me to clean out between the cuts in the relief areas.
That's it for tools. I really like cardboard finger nail files too.
By the way, the two chisels are made from files that were ground down and shoved into a piece of wood for a handle.
A friend loaned me a complete set of carving tools to use for the gun I'm working on and those are the only tools I use and need.

I like the Flexcut chisels but if you buy all of those shown in the photo, you'll have a lot of chisels which will never get used.

I won't get into what you need as the others have about covered that so, I'll suggest you wait until you need carving chisels and then buy just the ones you think you need/want.

Most good wood suppliers either have, or can get Flexcut (or other brands) for you.

I find I use 4 chisels although I have 6. That Strop that comes with the kit can be purchased separately from WoodCraft and elsewhere I suppose. I have one and it is awesome for keeping the gouges and other chisels really sharp!!! I use it to keep a fine edge on the knife I use for scrimshaw as well.
