Held properly, it is a very pleasant gun to shoot! I liked the design so much I'm going to make one in flint!!!
Take your time Crow, all the best!!!
Robby

Crow,
Well now, you are making me jealous! One of our oldest club members shoots a Vincent .40 and does really well. Not just in our club shoots but in the state shoot and regionals. It is one sweet little rifle.

Did you get a kit from TOW? C’mon Man! You cant start this thread and not give us a little more details…Kind of wood, grade of wood, barrel maker, lock and maker…

Ok TGJAeger

Sorry bout that.Actually it's grade 2. Reason 2 is I'm just finishing a grade4 and it's so hard to work with.Got it ordered from Pecatonica. They are nice to deal with. 13\16 36 in 40 caliber. Like I said before all silver furniture.Im going to tame the Cresent butt some and maybe a patch box. It's a Vincent box, only two I could find.Pewter nose cap. Might antique the barrel with a method I came up with do will have a grayish kinda hue and wear but nice. Hope it will be my squirrel gun.

My Vincent was the first of only two percussions I made, many moons ago. It was for my daughter and I included a cap box in Vincent style, though I did add a garnet to it which was from my Grandfathers tie tack and was his birthstone and mine as well.

I wouldn't bob that butt plate till you have had a chance to use it. It is a very pleasant way to shoot as it comes.

I made that cap box based on an original Vincent, not sure where you can get one like it. All my notes and research from back then are gone.
Robby

Crow,
Okay, now you’ve gone from making me jealous to just plain envious! :D

I have to agree with Robby on the butt plate. My buddy has the long tail style on his and that is part of the appeal of the rifle. It really does sit nicely on the shoulder. For a squirrel rifle I would think it perfect.

Robby, super nice work on that patchbox. It’s nice to remember your grandpa like that too!
