I acquired this nice percussion rifle over the weekend, at some point I will build a copy but figured I'd share some pictures of it in case anyone wanted to try it a bit sooner. It has a 43" slightly swamped 36 caliber barrel running about .912 at the breech .825 at the midsection and back to approx .912 at the muzzle. It's iron mounted with a forged steel triggerguard, no buttplate. The forestock had been spliced on back in the 1960's by the person I bought it from to repair a shattered forestock. He claims he picked it up from a family in Ohio in the early 1950's and it had been in their family from the start. They said a relative of their's had taken it too the civil war as a Tennessee volunteer, no documentation to prove that, kinda a small caliber to be used for war, but who knows. It's interesting all the same. Enjoy the pics.
