Well, not really a pair. But thought you guys would like to see another finished project.
These two pistols were made in the Balkans for the Turkish market early to mid 19th Century. While different looking, they are both typical of the Region and style.
I wanted to make these two pistols into safe shooters. And I'm happy with the results.
Both barrels are .60 caliber. So I can use .570, .575, or .580 round balls, whichever work best. Both barrels have new steel smooth bore liners from Bobby Hoyt. Lock repair and tuning was done by Earl Kathan. The double frog shoulder bucket was made by David Hannon.
The back of the bucket has a provision for the seperate loading rod (Suma) used with these pistols. The loading rod is original from the same period.
Anyway, hope you enjoy the photos. And thanks for looking. Rick. :hatsoff:

Thanks for sharing. That is extremely generous of
you to supply so much knowledge and skill to our
viewing pleasure...

Great rendition on the holster! I got to handle an original one of these not long ago the front was all needle work with red leather back why do I have a feeling you've got a set of robes to go with all the accoutraments you've been setting up? or is that in the future?

Hi Allen. No, no robes or camel yet. :haha:
Just my collecting obsession.
Wish I could have seen that bucket you were looking at.
