Well, not really a pair. But thought you guys would like to see another finished project.
These two pistols were made in the Balkans for the Turkish market early to mid 19th Century. While different looking, they are both typical of the Region and style.
I wanted to make these two pistols into safe shooters. And I'm happy with the results.
Both barrels are .60 caliber. So I can use .570, .575, or .580 round balls, whichever work best. Both barrels have new steel smooth bore liners from Bobby Hoyt. Lock repair and tuning was done by Earl Kathan. The double frog shoulder bucket was made by David Hannon.
The back of the bucket has a provision for the seperate loading rod (Suma) used with these pistols. The loading rod is original from the same period.
