I've had one for years. With a few modifications, it is a VERY serviceable vise. The rotating jaws make it easy to hold odd shapes. Wouldn't want to build without it.
 
I have one and like it. Gripes: It's difficult to lock it down, reaching under the bench, so it doesn't move.
 
Finally buying a patternmakers vise was a revelation for me. So much easier to grip stock wood at angles that made chisel work easier.

The other item that is a great help is an adjustable rest for the other end of the stock. My brother the cabinet maker devised one with easy adjustments and two tops, one flat and one v-notched.
