Nothing wrong with that rifle, good price and cleaned up very nice, it's a dead ringer for my first BP rifle which put a few deer on the ground, sold it to my neighbor years back to help finance my first custom build. As far as I know he is still hunting with it and doing well.👍

You have a good rifle there. I would have bought it at that price even though I didn't need it. I'm one of those that is interested more in function than looks and it looks like you fared well in both.

I agree, nice job with the clean up and a good find for what you paid. The Hawken style gun is my favorite type. T/C and CVA were the big deals back when I was getting started in BP at 16 yrs old 1986. I bought a renegade kit and assembled it. Wish I had gotten a Hawken instead. I have 3 now.

Ryhno,
Nice find and an even better job of refurbishment! That lil’ gal has been waiting all her life for someone to be kind to her, show her a bit of love and take her dancing. Now, go make some meat with her and take pictures. We really like pictures.

Now, the rest of ya’all, stop being mean to us old timers! We already have a full-time person assigned to that role…they are called a “wife”…

Hawkin......I doubt if anybody on this board has a REAL Hawkin. If they do let us see it. Everything else is a fabrication regardless of what it's called.
Exactly! I love my “clones.” It would be great to have any original, but my modern reproductions sure are fun too.

Nice find for the price and nice cleaning job i can never find any muzzleloaders in the pawn shops around here because most of them don't loan money on them but I did buy a T/C Hawken for sale in a local classifieds for $200 and it was a finished kit gun that had never been fired

Nice! I would not hesitate to drop $200 on one.

Y'all do need to haunt the pawn shops. I bought a CVA Hawken recently for $125. It was in good shape except for a bit of exterior rust. I modified it just as a project. It turned out very well. Polecat 🦨
I need to do it more often.
