I am sorry if this has been asked before but has anyone used them for a replacement stock for a T/C ? Specifically a T/C Renegade? If so how complicated was it to do? I figure it will take some wood working but just wanted some idea how hard it will be. Also, any finished photos would be great. Also, what grade wood would you recommend for a hunting rifle?

Thank You

Pecatonica offers the T/C with both the 15/16" and the 1"barrel inlet. The Renegade needs the 1" barrel inlet. All the parts except for the butt plate should interchange. Since Pecatonica has left the Butt plate plain, that isn't an issue. The lock should be identical. If you have double set triggers on your Renegade, those should drop in. All you need is to see what others have done.

Speaking of the Pecatonica River T/C stock, it is mentioned in the link Grenadier gave but some of you might have missed it.

The T/C factory stock is made like a modern rifle stock. The drop at the heel of the stock is only about 1 3/4 inches. This sort of drop is good for shooting with telescopic sights but it places the barrel too low for comfortable open sight shooting.
To address this issue, Dick Greensides, the owner of Pecatonica River Longrifle changed this drop at the heel to 3 inches. Doing this, if your shooting a Pecatonica River stocked rifle you will notice that it tends to raise the barrel up so the open sights line up very nicely with your shooting eye without forcing you to cock your head. In my opinion, that change alone is a good reason for considering stocking your T/C with these stocks.

A friend ordered one not a fancy grade that he assembled around a “parts gun” he found cheap I prefer how it points and shoots to standard TC Hawken. Fairly easy to inlet, if you take your time.
