Copy all on the long hammer travel, that had occurred to me as well.
I looked at the lock today and I think there are two things going on:
The tumbler notch is not exactly 90 degrees (to the eye) which adds pull weight.
The sear spring is pretty darn stiff...
I'm massively happy that it is now reliable, and will eventually get to working on the lock after building two more rifles...
