Pedersoli Mortimer

I use to go to a place that carried most of the Pedersoli line and I lusted over the Mortimers (rifles and shotguns). At the time they were above my spending limit and I noticed that none of them ever sold. They appeared to be very well made.

Anyone have any experience with them? My spending limit has increased and the lust for a Mortimer is still there.

I have one,12 ga. shotgun, very nice gun. I have taken turkey and deer with it. I don't use it much lately, not since I got my 20 ga. trade gun.

I have a .54 flinter, and had a shotgun for a while. I really like mine, but don't shoot it much anymore. I found it to be a great rifle, but a little heavy. I had mine shortened fore and aft (1" off the stock, and 6" off the barrel.) That really improved the handling characteristics for me.

Not quite as nice as a custom, but a beautiful rifle, nonetheless. The lock sparks well, and it's accurate. Never saw a prettier browning job, either.

I love my Pedersoli .54 flinter. It is reliabe, accurate, and very nice to look at. I took the rib off the bottom of the barrel and it swings really nicely now. With the rib in place, it felt very front-heavy.
