Hi! I've decided to take up blackpowder shooting (after having dreamt of it for many years). There is one particular rifle I'd like to have: the Pedersoli Pennsylvania Percussion rifle (.45). Anyone here who can share his/her experiance with it?

I bought my Pennsylvania rifle from Dixie Gun Works, probably ten years ago. Mine is in 45 caliber. This rifle has been a joy to shoot. I use it every year for deer season, and I take it to every shoot I go to. The only thing I have ever done to this rifle is take it to the range and sight it in. Over the years I have bought and sold alot of BP rifles, this one will be with me for along time to come....Ray

I have heard mostly kind words from Pedorsoli shooters, their only drawback is lack of historic accuracy in appearance but if you are not into re-enactments and such this is not an issue.

I have one and it is a shooter. I had to do a bit of lock tuning, and I opened and coned the liner. I use a Lee .433 ball 010 oxyoke patch and 70 gr. 3f. It shoots clover leafs at 50 yds.

Welcome! Hope you have many happy times with whatever rifle you choose.

I have the Pedersoli Pennsylvania, but a flintlock. It is very accurate and reliable although hard on flints, which you will not have to worry about.

The only modification I have done is to cone the muzzle because I use a .440" ball and .015" patch. The coned muzzle makes for easier loading for me.

last year I purchased Dixie Deluxe Cub Rifle .32 kit it is a Pedersoli .Very accurate rifle . Haven't shot more than 50 shots but so far excellent rifle. only Pedersoli I have any knowledge of may purchase another if I decide what I need next Buford

I had a Pedersoli Pennsylvania around 30 years ago in .45 cal,and it was a tackdriver. Very good gun,but sold it when the lock broke and could'nt get parts.
