Hi, I saw a nice little Pedersoli 12 guage side by side at a gun shop today. I didn't notice any model or other identifying marks on it but it appears to be a fairly modern gun, very trim and in good/very good shape. Can anyone give me a ball park figure on what the gun's worth or is my description too vague? Thanks in advance for any and all responses.

Thanks, I saw it at Northern Rifleman for $815 and the asking price at the gunshop is WAY less than that. Admittedly it's a used gun but it's probably in 90% condition and looks pretty good. I think I'm going to make an offer and I have a feeling that I'll end up with it.

Does anyone have any experience with this gun. I have a buddy that had one and he said he loved it.

I've had mine since 1971. My new (at the time) wife let me get it for my birthday present.I think it is a really nice gun, even though the stock is about two inches short for my long arms.My nephews youngest boy used it at the old North west this year for the trap shoot and it still shoots just as well as when it was new.As to what they are worth m ine cost a full weeks pay with ten hours overtime back then. So I would say the current prices of over $800 is about right.

Hey Ganggreen,

Got one last year. Have had a great time with it. Got used one for $420. I really love it. Can't hit anything moving but have had a great time triing.

GANGGREEN,
Sounds nice.
If you don't snag it, maybe I will.
I'll be out Coudy ways in a few weeks. :blah:

I picked up one in 10 gauge around a year ago for 395.00 used, but nice!

You got a heck of a good deal! I had a Pedersoli 10 ga. that I purchased new. Killed a big gobbler with it - 10" beard.

Bucktales, a few weeks is going to be too late. I stopped yesterday to pick it up and the small gunshop was closed. I'll try again on Monday or Tuesday, time permitting. For what it's worth, I'll be paying less than the other posters on this thread who bought used ones paid.

By the way Bucktales, I'm new to the board but I've admired your Gordons. I have two English Setters and enjoy hunting them.

There seems to be a little bit of space between the prices quoted .The prices given for some of the older pedersolis are for 12 gage sxs but they like mine have cylinder bores no chokes . The prices given for new sxs pedersolis have multiple choke tubes and all around better barrels than the early sxs if you put two of them side by side , while I think both of them are great guns for the money the newer one is much more of a shot gun than the early guns at least in my opimion.Regardless of wheather you have an oportunity to get an older one or a new one make the best deal you can and get one I don't think you'll be sorry I know cause I got one of the early ones like new for 250 and I wouldn't part with it.

Thanks Junky, just based on the general condition of the gun, particularly the stock, I'm guessing this is a newer one. The barrels are chromed but I didn't even think to check if it has screw in chokes. I think not but I'm not sure. I saw them on the web and the new ones are advertised with IC/M chokes and no mention of screw ins.

For what it's worth, I haven't found the shop open and haven't picked up the gun but I'm guessing I'll get it for what you paid for yours, if not a bit less.

I found that my 12 ga. will accept Ruger,Mossberg, and Remington choke tubes. I use a pair of extra full Remingtons for Turkey, and I/C Mossbergs for Rabbits and Pheasant, leaving the "one of each" that came with the gun in the box.

Ron, that's good to know because I do have a couple of Mossberg extra fulls and I'd love to take a spring gobbler with the gun. Thanks.
