My Lyman 50 GPR is a tick licker. It's a 1:66
Actually it should be a 1-60 twist not a 1-66. Unless you have a very early model which did have a 1-66 twist. I have a 50 GPR and what a shooter it is. I also have a Investarms 'Hawken" that looks for all the world to be a Cabelas Hawken but is not branded Cabelas. Or anyone else for that matter. I bought it off gunbroker about a year and half ago and have never shot it.
The seller said he measured the bore and that it had a 1-60 twist. When I got the gun measured the twist because I didn't believe him. But he was correct. Its a 1-60 twist and one thing he didn't catch is that it has a 6 groove barrel. My GPR has a 5 groove barrel. And so far as I can tell this gun has never been fired. I have been around BP for 30 years and should be able to tell when a gun has been fired.
If this gun shoots like my GPR I have a real winner of a gun. I need to go shoot it. I have shot my GPR at least 300 times and always been impressed with the accuracy. And per the date code IIRC this gun was built around 1982. I ma guessing it was bought for a decoration.
