I have a seriously clogged gun. I admit I'm a little lazy about cleaning hence the problem. I have poured some lukewarm water down the barrel but it won't even come out through the nipple. I'm hoping for some suggestions.

Well, ya gotta stop being lazy....

Did ya take the nipple out and try pushing through a pipe cleaner or something similar? If it's blocks, it could be dry balled or even loaded. If nothing works, get a CO2 discharger from Cabelas, replace the nipple and try to dislodge what is probably a ball.

Yeah I know but I am where I am. There is no ball in the gun. I think I'll take it to a local gun builder. This gun has a green mountain barrel on it and I'm afraid of messing it up. Being new to this I'm discovering the learning curve is steep. Thanks

I hate to be the one to tell you but you already have done two things that aren't good for the barrel.

First off, being "lazy about cleaning" means to me that you didn't clean the gun within a few hours after shooting it.
That alone won't plug up the barrel or the nipple but it will cause rust to start forming.

Waiting a few days and then pouring warm water down the bore is another way to get some rust started.

That said, do as Swampy said and remove the nipple with a nipple wrench.
Get some pipe cleaners (the kind for cleaning pipe stems in the smoking section of your drug store) and push one of them down thru the flame channel hole that connects the nipple to the bore.

If you can get a pipe cleaner into the flame channel and into the bore you will know that that area is open.

Now pour some denatured alcohol down the bore. It should run out.
If it doesn't the most likely reason is that there is a patched ball (and possibly a powder load) still in there.

I don't know if you have kids but it wouldn't be the first time someones kid rammed a ball down dads muzzleloader and then couldn't get it out.
