Ain't eveh et one but I had relatives that did. They served one up for Thanksgiving dinner. My brother in law was considered the guest of honor the first time he ate Thanksgiving dinner there so they gave him the head. :rotf: Seems like the acorns and chinquapins would mak'em bitter. Them teeth are real good at bitin. My first wife had one for a pet. Two sets of fangs. I was givin him a bath one day and he slipped in the tub and bit the devil out of me. Not out of meaness just tryin to grab something to hold on to. Pretty gentle when they're tamed.

Thanks Davey. We have been a wonder'in why that wind out of the S.E. was so different last Sunday. Now I know what you had for supper. :rotf:

I've eaten a couple of possum in my day. Also a few raccoon and 2 porcupines.
Pop them in the crock pot with some veggies for all day and enjoy. if there's a lot of fat you can just skim them off before the meal comes out of the pot.

I'd love to get some Mammoth meat and cook it up just to say I did it.

Don't have a recipe for Mammoth but I do have one for Elephant Stew that I will share with you if you are interested.

:surrender: There ain't no way I would even thinl of eatin possum, one day I kicked at a half frozen dead cow and out the bloody end comes a possum aargh!!!!!!! Bob

How many "Buckskinners" does it take to eat a Possum?
Well three of course, one eaten, and two watch'in for cars. :rotf:

i've trapped and 'et a lotta critters but i ain't eatin' no 'possum....or skunk. 'coon, howsumever, is quite good and beaver is jes' 'bout as good as squirrel. I'd rather have 'coon or beaver as mule deer...whitetails is some tasty but ain't nuthin' as good as elk or squirrel!

Vic

Anybody got some possum already skinned, cleaned and such they're willing to freeze and send to me, I'm willing to offer an objective fine dining critique.
