I’m learning, I think... Made a lot of mistakes, but learned from them as well.

What you don’t see in those photos is that I had a practice horn to lay out my scrimshaw and learn with! Just take your time and focus; it’ll look awesome!

I can only wish I could scrimshaw, but alas - it's a lost cause in my case.

I just penciled the designs on, and carefully scratched them in with a few assorted tools to include a few razor knives and a carbide scribe. Lightly buff, fill with ink and wipe. You can do this!

He does! He is on Facebook, and was super helpful! He is an old school artisan who wants the traditions passed down. He patiently answered all of my questions.
