I just checked thier website an they mention only 2 or 3 days till everything is back to normal, Shipping wise that is, this was stated on May the 14th. I hope the young man will be alright. It must not have happened in the major part of the warehouse. I plan on getting some at the end of the month myself.

Wow, that's too bad about the son. I hope he recovers fully...sounds like it won't be too quickly based on burns that severe.

I've only ordered from them once...my last order...but they were excellent to deal with and met their commitment honestly and efficiently. I'll definitely be ordering from them again.

At least it sounds like their business will not be disrupted for too long.

I've ordered lots of powder from Powder inc over the years; and I sure hope the injured boy comes through this okay.

I just heard from someone who knows them. No word yet on the injured son.
They did not manufacture any powder. They did/do load shotshells. My source believes that is where the accident occurred.

I have met Jerry Dean (owner) in the past and he is good people. Just read another post by a fellow who called and spoke with Jerry and here is a synopsis (in my words) of what he said he found out after talking to Jerry -

Jared (son) has made it through the first 48 hours and his vital signs are stablized. He has 3rd degree burns over 55% of his body. He will be undergoing the first (of many, I assume) surgeries soon. No one else had any significant injuries as Jared was in the building by himself. The explosion happened in a new building where they assemble blanks and the BATF investigation (at this point, anyhow) points to a malfunction of some kind in the equipment used.

Please corect me if I have erred with relating the story.

That confirms what I heard from my friend.
She sent me this:

"Just visited with Jerry - his son was burned pretty bad and is in Children's hospital in LR.
He is doing better than expected, but will still be a long road. His first surgery is tomorrow.
Jerry says they will be back shipping powder but it will be a bit until Jerrey gets back home or much better.
Prayers are appreciated."

so now is a good time to order as they will need the financial infusion that our business will bring them. just be patient and give an extra day or 2v for order to ship as they will be traveling some to the hospital i assume. burns heal very painfully but the doctors today are very skilled and have many tools to use God Speed and best wishes

Wow, I guess I shouldn't be that amazed at the lack of understanding of the English language, even in the American vernacular, of the television news reporters. Synthetic gunpowder? ALL gunpowder is "synthetic"..., "Synthesis, the combination of two or more parts, whether by design or by natural processes. Furthermore, it may imply being prepared or made artificially, in contrast to naturally." Unless there is some source for "naturally occurring" gunpowder of which I have not heard?

:idunno:

you're right ... never let it be said that American newsbroadcasters (once considered the protectors and preservers of the language) knew anything about firearms, or the working of guns ... heck ...most of these bozos can't string a sentence together and have thre grammer come out right.

Um, I think you mean those of us who pray, including us Christians, should be asking our God to give healing and comfort. After all we don't want folks who don't happen to be Christian to think TMF is a Christians' only group, right?

as regards the second part, i agree on that too! i've met folks from all walks and creeds at the range; some pray and some don't, so, if you do, send a message to whichever God you worship

I just called PowderInc. and their son went into surgery today at 10:30. They will be open tomorrow. Lets say a prayer or 2 for the young man as he struggles thru this and wish him well.

The Ancient Ones have done business with the Deans for quite some time. We just got 4 cases a month ago. I hope the lad recovers, a long and painful road for sure.
How about a muzzlingloader forum chaity auction for the boy.
If people donated single items that could each be auctioned on this site.
I will donate a good knife,
What do you think?

No, but it might be nice to help someone that has sold many of us powder. My tax dollars go to friggin bums who have never done anyting for me. At least the Deans have said thanks, we appreciate the business!

It would be best to check with the family first, before handing them donations unannounced.

In many instances, extra money from outside sources can put insurance coverage and other specialty (Shriners & other Burns Associations) coverage eligibility in jeopardy.

Sorry, I don't mean to be rude.
While I have sent prayers for the victim of this tragic accident and the members of his family, there are many-many people that have accidents happen to them daily all across this country whom are very deserving of any charity we might have to offer that don't receive it simply because they don't have lives or business of notoriety.

My charity and monies tend to stay a little more local,
