I have often wondered about any real power difference between the vaunted Walker Colt and the 1860 developed just before the Civil War.
I see in the Lyman black powder book the 60 will push a 137 grain .451 ball to over a thousand fps with a max compressed load of 37 grains of 3F.
I don't have any data on Walker velocity but I have my doubts it is significantly more given only nine inches to burn all that extra powder.
Anyone have some data to compare them? Mike D.

walker =55 grains fffg 143 gr .457 rb =1150fps . the 1860 would be closer to the dragoon in power, rather than the walker.
