I should have told you what I was planning to load. my thoughts were to load 100grs. 2f behind 2 patched round balls. then tie the barrel to a tire with a veeeeeeeerrrrrrrryyyyyyyy long string :hmm:

:applause:Checker, I posted this article, proofing, back a couple of weeks ago and it seems that very few proof any weapons. It is nice to see that some one other than that few know of proofing. I proof with double load and two patched balls. Good luck. :redthumb:

My thanks to you MR.Crazy Frenchman, I didn't have to much knowledge on proofing. but I figured there would be at least one Man that would give me some info to help me along the way. I don't think I will use a double charge. that would put the load at about 180grs. but I might use 140grs. and hide behind mama. again I Thank you Sir. checker YMHS :hmm:

The Dixie catalog used to have a list of the somewhat standardized, industry proof loads for muzzle loading shotguns. They listed both types of proof loads. Most of them are much higher than you would think.
