I have a choice between types. #11 Remington or #11 RWS 1075. I am familiar Remington but never used RWS. The better buy is the RWS. Just not sure of them
Thanks

ADK Bigfoot,
Thanks for your experience with the RWS caps. Just ordered 2,500 from MidwayUSA.

I actually have plenty of caps but I'm shooting BP guns a lot more these days. And having extras on hand let's me help out people just beginning or caught short. Folks have been kind to me over the decades of BP shooting and it's nice to be able to pass that help along to others.

I would get the RWS caps. I have found that Remington caps are just a tad taller, and they do not flow well in my Cash capper, They get hung up more times than they flow out.

OK, I am not saying that they are better, but with a light striking hammer, I found the Remington's will fire when others won't.

RWS products are in my experience are superior to others of similar types. They were the first to have noncorrosive priming in centerfire cartridges. I wish all their products were still imported into the US.

If you notice CCI caps can be bought in boxes of 1,000.

Remington caps can only be bought in a blister pack of 100.

Easy to store 1,000 CCI caps, not so easy to store 1,000 Remington caps unless you get out your pocket knife.

Wonder why Remington does that.?

Regarding why does Remington sell caps in a blister package?

Think it is done for loss prevention aka shrinkage. Makes it a bit harder to conceal when stolen and allows hanging packages on display rods. May also prevent shrinkage in the can from dirt bags taking some caps out.

Sidebar:
Last year I bought several containers of Black MZ substitute black powder since I read it was being discontinued. Wanted to try it out. On another trip to the store I noticed the powder container was lighter than it should be. Unscrewed the lid and found factory seal not sealed. Looked inside Black MZ container and about 25% of the powder was gone.

Told a clerk and they did not seem to care and would not check the other two containers. I checked and another container was also missing powder. The last one they had was sealed so I bought it. I hate thieves.

I always thought they had a thicker metal
That could be too, they did seem to be a bit harder to firmly mount on the nipples of my 1851 Colt repro. However, I remember measuring the comparative diameters with a micrometer and the Remington brand came out a skosh wider. I will grant this was in no way a scientific comparison as I only checked a few of each, not enough to gain any statistical significance. It was also back in the late chalcolithic era when remington caps came in a tin, painted white with a logo on the top and RWS came in a silver tin with a red very sticky paper label on top, that made good containers for lubed patches, nipples, snaps, punch heads, and to put the current rws caps in as I am hard on plastic.
