I've taken up flintlock target shooting again after being away for 25 years. I have 2 old range boxes. One is foot locker sized wooden box I bought at a garage sale and the other is a plastic fishing tackle box. Now I'm ready to build a personalized range box.
I've pretty good with wood working and power tools. I'm looking for pictures and drawings of home made boxes that forum members are proud of. :front:

Bill,

I have a simple (8 high X 11 wide and 15 long) box with a flap top, but the bottom panel extends out from the front with a semicircle cut out for gun loading and a notch to keep my range rod in place and a slot to hold 5 round balls for shooting matches. Also a small hole for a short starter and maybe a slot for a patch knife would be nice.

There is also a small ledge on the bottom to keep the box from sliding back due to the weight of the gun. I have never posted pics or I would shoot a few, but I think that the verbal description should get the idea across.

(BTW, I knew an old lawman in Valdosta named Bob Hall. I know that Valdosta has grown some, but this guy was pretty well known. If you know him, please let me know.)

YMHS,

Thanks for the input. I like the idea of a easy place to put bullets, starter, etc.

I'm an engineer in construction. The only Bob Hall I know has a carpet outlet. Next time I see him I'll ask.
